3 Voices You Should Be Listening To

Who do you listen to? Are you listening? It may surprise you to hear that I don’t listen to most people. I do listen! I just filter who I listen to! At the end of the day, you should only be listening to 3 voices in your life. Here are the:

3 Voices You Should Be Listening To:

1. People who LOVE you.

This may sound narcissistic at first, but if you know they love you, they can even speak difficult truth over your life, and you can accept it, because you know they care about you! Do you have someone in your life that has 100% freedom to speak the truth in love to you? Do you have someone in your life that you can be 100% honest with? We are also as sick as our secrets! You have blind spots. Someone needs to help you expose them and navigate through them! Fight to find a friend, mentor, or coach that loves you and will speak difficult truths into your life. As iron sharpens iron, one friend sharpens another!

2. People who BELIEVE THE BEST for you.

In life, you come across just a few people that have been consistently FOR you. They believe in you. They believe the best about you. They have been willing to invest into you. They challenge you to expand your mind and dare in faith. We all need someone who believes the very best about us and is cheering us on from the grandstands of our lives. This is one of the great values in coaching that I have personally experienced. In my relationships with great coaches in the past, I have dragged myself into the conversation with my tail between my legs, only to leave ready to tackle Hell with a water gun! Find someone who believes in you and believes the best about you and ask them to coach you up!

3. People who KNOW MORE THAN you.

If you’re an avid reader here at CourageToLead, you have probably seen me say that the #1 mistake I see Leaders make is ISOLATION. Isolation has so many emotional, relational, and even spiritual consequences. However, isolation also has professional consequences! When we cut ourselves off from people we should be learning from, we stop learning and when we stop learning, we stop growing. When we stop growing, our ministry, business, or organization will soon stop growing! Don’t allow that to happen to you. Reach out today and get a Coach!
